Regenerative agriculture is about evolving the way you already farm.

Transition to regenerative farming Increase margins, quality, nutrition Decrease chemical, carbon footprint

What is regenerative agriculture?

A shift in thinking

A new approach to future-proofing your farm

Regenerative farming isn't any one thing or technique. It is a paradigm shift in how we use our land to provide health and prosperity to communities.

Sustainable
self-reliance

She knows better

Regenerative farming has the potential to reduce or remove reliance on inputs from outside the operation. It all depends on what your goals are.

climate action

Doing your part

Healthy soil helps fix broken water, carbon, and nitrogen cycles which helps mitigate difficult weather, natural disasters, and the increasing call for global climate action.

Build topsoil instead of lose it

Topsoil erosion is directly linked with overstressed carbon, nitrogen, and water cycles. Managing organic matter correctly can build and preserve topsoil, retain water, and carbon which benefits the nutrient cycle.

Recognize and integrate past agricultural practice

In modern agroecology we recognize that indigenous peoples have regionally adapted practices refined over thousands of years, and for important reasons. We seek to learn and incorporate that wisdom back into mainstream practice.

Soil Nerd is hosting a public access discussion forum for Regenerative Agriculture using the open-source software Mattermost. We are hosting this platform for free to encourage all those interested in the subject to join and be a part of the discussion.

Since there is no currently accepted definition of regen-ag, why don't we talk about it and learn and teach in turn based on all our unique experiences and requirements.
